Keynote address: Malaysia’s Registration System and Cropping Trends
Join Malaysia Pesticide Board Deputy Director Mr. Halimi Bin Mahmud for an overview of Malaysia’s crop protection industry, including an overview on Malaysia’s registration system, cropping trends and adoption trends for the country’s crop inputs.
Halimi Mahmud is responsible for the approval, monitoring and enforcement of the registration, technical evaluation, advertising, monitoring and enforcement of pesticides in Malaysia, and he is the liaison officer of the Rotterdam Convention on International Trade of Chemicals and Pesticides. He has been involved with discussions with other ASEAN pesticides regulatory authorities in working toward registration harmonization in Southeast Asai, and he is a former member of the WHO/FAO Panel of Experts on Pesticides Management.

Ms. Vaishali Chopra, Manager of Food & Agribusiness Research and Advisory for Rabo India Finance Limited, will discuss global trends for emerging markets that will help manufacturers and distributors capitalize on growing populations, emerging middle classes and crop intensification that is propelling the crop input industry like never before.
Vaishali Chopra has been with Rabobank’s research division for five years, and she is an industry veteran with Excel Crop Care. She has worked on various private and public advisory projects, including Australia’s National Food Industry Strategy and a sector study for the government of Netherlands.

Join the discussion on registration systems, cropping trends, ASEAN trade implications, counterfeiting and more during our expert panel discussion. Farm Chemicals International assembles its program around representatives from governments, industry and the NGO community who all influence agriculture in the host region. Our goal is to create a venue where ideas can be articulated and refined to further the sustainability of agriculture businesses.
