Syngenta Launches Venture Fund

Syngenta has invested US $100 million in a Boston, Massachusetts, US-based venture fund known as LSP BioVentures. The biotech venture capital fund will be managed by Life Science Partners (LSP).

Two of the world's largest seed genetics companies, Syngenta Seeds, Inc. and DuPont's Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., have formed a joint venture (JV) to out-license genetics to US and Canadian seed companies, with the possibility of expanding worldwide, according to a joint press release from the two companies.
