UPL Acquires Bensulfuron-Methyl From DuPont

United Phosphorus Ltd. reached a deal with DuPont Crop Protection to obtain the latter's bensulfuron-methyl chemistry and its associated trade names. The deal includes global ownership and marketing rights for the product Londax, a selective pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicide for weed control in rice for annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and sedges.

Mitsui Acquires Sankyo Agro

Japanese chemical group Mitsui Chemicals Inc. will take over Daiichi Sankyo's pesticides subsidiary, Sankyo Agro Co., by the end of next March, according to a Mitsui press release.

Details of the transaction were not announced.

Specialty chemical group Degussa is splitting off its crop protection business, which includes agrochemicals and growth regulators, as well as pharmaceutical and nutritional products.
