Action / Use
ACTION: Algaecide.
USE: Controls planktonic and filamentous algae, Hydrilla verticillata in golf course, ornamental, fish and fire ponds; potable water reservoirs; fresh water lakes and fish hatcheries.
FORMULATIONS: Aqueous solution, liquid.
Chemistry
COMPOSITION: Mixed copper triethanolamine complex.
PROPERTIES: Dark green/blue liquid. Specific gravity 1.265 at 25°C, pH 6-7.
Environmental Guidelines
HAZARDS: Fish: Toxic (generally decreases as water hardness decreases). In the U.S., consult state fish and game agency before applying to public waters.
WATER SOLUBILITY: Soluble.
Safety Guidelines
TOXICITY: (Acute): Oral LD50 >1300 mg/kg.
HANDLING/STORAGE CAUTIONS: Store below 35°C, min. 5°C. Decomposes at temperatures above 200°C. Store in clean dry area. Average shelflife under proper storage conditions is 2 years. Exercise normal handling precautions for liquid materials.
Emergency Guidelines
FLASHPOINT: Nonflammable.
FIRST AID: Eyes: flush with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation persists. Skin: wash thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists. Ingestion: drink 1-2 glasses of water and induce vomiting by touching the back of throat with finger. Contact physician or Poison Control Center. Inhalation: remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
