“The 1,000-ton glufosinate project is not only the key action for Hebei Veyong’s medium and long-term development strategy, but also the core project for transformation and upgrading of product structure in Hebei Veyong,” the company said in a statement on the Chinese Crop Protection Industry Association website. “It will promote the future development strategy of Hebei Veyong.” In addition, another plant with 3,000-ton glufosinate capacity is already under construction.

As one of the earliest Chinese manufacturers of glufosinate, Hebei Veyong moved to a new plant in 2012, and added a 300-ton-capacity facility to its existing 150-ton facility. The glufosinate project represents a breakthrough on technology promotion and environmental upgrades, it said.
