India’s Crystal Crop Protection Opens Technical Plant

Indian agrochemical company Crystal Crop Protection announced the opening of its first technical plant in Sonepat, a district of Haryana, one of the progressive agricultural states in India. The plant will synthesize various molecules like thiamethoxam, glyphosate, dichlorvos and tricyclazole.

The plant is equipped with state-of-art machinery to manufacture new molecules, including nitrogen blanketing and a multi-effect evaporator which means the plant will be environment friendly, the company said in a statement. Crystal also has three formulation plants in India.

NK Aggarwal, chairman of the Crystal Group, said “Our R&D center at Sonepat aims to develop new environmentally friendly molecules – both chemical and biological – as well as technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our current products. We will also be working on more efficient formulation technologies. In the short-term we are expecting almost 20 new registrations to come across in next couple of years.” Aggarwal added, “We have also entered into multiple strategic alliances with many players globally and are investing rapidly into gaining registrations across the globe in many market including Southeast Asia, Latin America, Australia, North and Central America and Europe. We are also increasing our presence in the African sub-continent.”

Crystal is one of the top five companies in India with marketing of over 70 products in Indian market. The plant can synthesize molecules including clodinafop-propargyl, sulfosulfuron, thiamethoxam, atrazine, pretilachlor, glyphosate, dichlorvos and tricyclazole.
