Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI), a provider of effective and safe pest management products, announced that its biofungicide, Regalia Maxx, has been approved for use in the important agricultural market of Mexico, according to a press release.

Regalia will be available to conventional and organic growers of fruits and vegetables for controlling diseases such as early blight and powdery mildew.

“The expansion of sales of Regalia into Mexico marks our entry into the large and growing Latin American market,” said MBI CEO Pam Marrone in a statement. “Mexico in particular is a strong market for this innovative product, as growers exporting to the US must control tough diseases and deliver high quality crops while meeting requirements for minimal pesticide residues.”

Regalia works by triggering the natural defense systems of plants to protect against a variety of fungal and bacterial pathogens. It can be applied in tank mixes, program rotations, or as a stand-alone treatment, according to the company. Regalia has a zero day pre-harvest interval and is exempt from tolerance requirements in or on all food commodities.
