First New EC Formulations Get Approval in China
23 March 2015 According to the announcement made by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, 231 pesticide products were granted a pesticide production approval certificate, including three EC formulations from Anhui Meiland Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. These are among the first emulsion products granted with the production approval certificate since the standard on limits of harmful solvents in emulsion pesticides went into effect on March 1, 2014.
The approval of the first batch of new-type EC products manufactured by domestic enterprises marks the beginning of the upgrading and replacement of solvents, the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA) said. The use of new, environmentally compatible green solvents is being encouraged in new emulsion formulas to gradually replace traditional EC solvents. “The subsequent approval of such certificates of EC products is also worth paying attention to,” CCPIA said.
The three formulations from Anhui Meiland Agricultural Development Co. Ltd. include two herbicides (10% cyhalofop-butyl EC and 30% cyhalofop-butyl emulsion) and a bactericide (60% difenoconazole propiconazole emulsion).
