Syngenta reported the death on Jan. 28 of Dr. Alejandro Aruffo, who took medical leave as Head of R&D in October.
Mike Mack, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Sandro was a brilliant and dedicated man. He played a pivotal role in strengthening Syngenta’s R&D function and in delivering our strategy. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues at Syngenta and our thoughts go out to his family.”
Robert Berendes, Head of Business Development, will continue ad interim leadership of the R&D function.
